Here’s How You Can Score Well in JEE Mains by Studying 4 Hours Per Day
The Joint Entrance Examination is one of the most competitive exams in India. The majority of the students who intend to become an engineer, usually appear for these exams in India. The Joint Entrance Exam or the JEE as it is popularly called is a competitive exam for entrance into some of the most prestigious and top-ranking engineering colleges in India. Therefore, it is needless to say that each year lakh of students appear for these exams. Unfortunately for many of the students the seats in the colleges are limited which means that there is immense competition for every seat in a renowned college. This is why it is often counted as one of the most difficult examinations to crack for students.
The fact that there is tremendous competition for places does not necessarily mean that one needs to study more that 12 to 15 hours a day. When studying it is important to avoid looking at it as a task that you need to study for so and so hours. Instead, you must focus on the agenda for the day and study it from a knowledge acquisition point of view. This is when you will be truly learning your lessons which will not only help you clear the examination but at the same time will also help you secure better marks in college and in the process make you a better engineer. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to clear the Joint Entrance Examinations by studying four to five hours a day. Therefore, for those individuals who have other responsibilities from a young age, need not lose hope. They can also crack this exam and pursue a career in engineering by studying along with fulfilling other responsibilities. However, they need to be very strict about their discipline when studying.
There are many students who have scored good marks in JEE main result by studying 5 to 6 hours a day, whereas others who have not qualified despite spending 15 hours a day studying. The bottom-line is that just because you have not studied for as many hours does not give you less of a chance. JEE is not an exam that you can successfully clear by studying non-stop. You also need to be smart about the methods you use. You need to be very clear about the concepts that pertain to the topics. This is crucial for those individuals who do not have much time to study on a daily basis. The most important thing however is the fact that you need to be consistent. If you have decided that you will be spending 4 hours a day, then you must study at least 4 hours everyday without fail. This will keep in the flow and in touch with the subjects’ which is crucial.
Utilising time is crucial. If you are studying for 4 hours, then you must make sure that you make the most of it and concentrate throughout the period. It is widely believed that our minds are not capable of focussing at its peak for more than 45 minutes. Hence, if it helps then you can take a break after every 45 minutes to an hour. This will enable your brain to freshen up and refocus.
You must make a routine and clearly demarcate subjects to different hours of the day. Night time after dinner is a good time to study and focus. This time can range from 9 PM to 12 PM. It is better not to study till late at night as this can break your routine the following day. It is best to leave the mugging part of the study for the early morning, as this is the time when the brain is fresh.
